Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the StudyCanvas app uses, why it uses it, and what you can do about it, in accordance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018).

1. Who is responsible

StudyCanvas is developed by BGSuporte, under the responsibility of Gustavo. Privacy contact: suporte@bgsuporte.com.br.

2. Data we use

• Google account data (openid, email and profile scopes): name, email and profile picture. Used to sign you in and to keep your profile separate from other profiles on the same computer.
• Files created by the app in your Google Drive (drive.file scope): StudyCanvas creates a folder in your Drive and saves backups there. It can only read, list and delete the files it created itself; it has no access to any other file in your Drive.
• Your study content (notes, boards, maps, screenshots, flashcards): stored as files on your computer and, if you enable it, in backups in your own Google Drive. We do not receive or store this content on our servers.
• AI usage: when you use an AI feature through the StudyCanvas service, the text or image you sent passes through our server and is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to generate the answer. On our server we only keep: your email and name (for usage quotas), the date and time of each request, the model used, the number of tokens and whether it succeeded. We do not store the content of requests or answers.

3. Who we share data with

• Google: sign-in and storage of backups in your Drive.
• Supabase: hosts the server that controls access to the AI and the usage log described above.
• Anthropic: processes the AI requests you send. Under its terms, Anthropic does not use data received through its API to train models.

We do not sell data, do not use it for advertising and do not share it with anyone else, except where required by law.

4. Use of Google data

StudyCanvas's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Where data is kept and for how long

Google access tokens are stored encrypted on your computer. Backups stay in your Drive until you delete them; the app keeps only the most recent ones, according to the retention you choose. The AI usage log is kept while your account exists, for quota control.

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at the email above. You can also revoke StudyCanvas's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once revoked, the app can no longer access your Drive; backups already saved remain in your Drive until you delete them.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with the updated date.

If this translation and the Portuguese version differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
